Garnitura | Anna Vasina

Garnitura is a versatile typeface rooted in hot-metal typesetting that bridges traditional and contemporary types with the inclusivity of modern script coverage.

Garnitura is a text typeface based on mostly simple and functional forms but still with a hint of craftiness. It has been thoughtfully designed to ensure balanced proportions, enhancing legibility and visual harmony across different languages, inspired by the old-day newspaper types.

It is a typeface that started as an inclusivity exercise for continuous reading in the printed matter such as books and ephemera requiring multi-language support.

Garnitura covers the scripts used in the Balkan region and embraces diversity through various diacritics and contextual forms. The typeface has been carefully crafted to extend its reach and usability across multiple writing systems in Central and Eastern Europe, covering as well as some of the Middle East.
Designed to give a hand to non-commercial projects and scholars.
