Wayfinding for the Health and Life Sciences Building | Gemma Whittel

The current wayfinding system for the Health and Life Sciences Building does not do the architecture and interior design of the building justice, so this project proposes a new system. This new, modular wayfinding system was inspired by the dragonfly motif that appears on the side of the building. The colours and materials used in the design also reflect and compliment the wood, concrete and metal already in the building, which are inspired by nature and the Cole Museum of Zoology.

The system was developed with the aid of sketches and notes on critical decision points and locations where signage is needed for different types of user. The development process also included an outline of the kinds of signs required at each decision point as well as information that will be needed on each sign.
