Disquería, a record store guidebook · Francisco Miranda

A record store guidebook that contains every store in a major city, divided by geographical zones. Through the use of information design elements, such as maps, lists, and graphs, each store entry indicates where it is located, how to get there using public transport, its opening hours, average prices, music genres, the products it sells, and whether it is a good option to find something in particular.

At the core of the guide, each store spread organises the data and information gathered during the research. The three key elements of the information are: Photography, store rating, and local map. All the photographs taken by me. The main text is a brief story of the store, put together from different sources. As a closure, I added highlighted information about something special that defines the store. On the edge of the recto, the map serves as the header for the quantitative data strip, giving context to the rest of the information.

The guidebooks were curated through thorough research using user-experience-based criteria and personal experience. The information displayed in each guide is organised by hierarchy and location.
