Liveries of London | Hannah Smith
London’s livery companies gather professionals from the ancient and modern trades, industries, and guilds in the City of London. ‘Liveries of London’ is a contemporary guide book series comprised of 111 books, one for each company.
Despite their long-established presence in the City of London, the rich heritage of these exclusive companies remains largely unknown. ‘Liveries of London’ is designed to covey a comprehensive understanding of the history and contemporary relevance and work of these companies.

An identifiable series style is achieved through the consistent application of spread templates and typographic hierarchy. The livery companies are divided into ten groups of companies which share similar interests or professions, following the founding values of the companies to connect trade professionals together. These groupings are identified through the dual-tone colour pallet which is applied to the embossed cover design and the internal navigational systems.
