How’s your communication lately? | Kaori Matsumura
This project aims to nudge people who are getting hearing loss to take action.
The project aims to show that people with hearing loss and those around them can communicate smoothly again by understanding their hearing loss and knowing what actions to take. In particular, it aims to nudge people who are aware of their symptoms but are hesitant to take action.
The leaflet for people who are experiencing hearing loss provides the process for supporting hearing loss by describing the signs of hearing loss, the next steps to take, and how to get used to hearing aids. The leaflets for people around the person with hearing loss include the symptoms and how to support them.
The examples of unclear communication were visualised in lighthearted graphics to get the attention of the readers and give the leaflet a friendly feel. Two colours, orange and light blue, were used effectively in the design to convey the idea that the booklets are for two different audiences but with the same theme. The title is in the form of a question to get the attention of the readers.
The text in those brochures has been taken from the websites of the respective hearing aid manufacturers.
