Contextual Texts | Brandon Ballog
This project explores how similar types of content can be repurposed for different audiences through book design. The source material is a collection of short stories by Raymond Carver in its commercial form, manuscript form, and associated reference or academic writing.

The commercial version of the original short story collection is designed for the casual reader in trade paperback form. It features significantly edited versions of the stories.

The manuscript version is designed for the enthusiast or collector as a hardback. It features significantly longer versions of the stories as the author originally intended.

The academic version is a comparison of the two previous versions merging the two texts together in a experimental way to highlight the key differences.
